Overcoming Challenges Along Life's Way ~ Part One

Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening,
this post should take three to five minutes to read from start to finish.

Have you ever felt satisfied after overcoming the past challenges in life?

This post focuses on a October 1987 General Conference talk, and it is called "Overcoming Challenges along Life’s Way" by Joy F. Evans. This post is part one. I would like to share with you some highlights while I was reading the talk recently, and I hope you would learn something new as you read this post.

Sister Evans mentioned the following; "Do you ever wonder, as I do, what gave the pioneer women the courage to sing, “All is well!” in the face of their many challenges? Do you wonder how, as we face today’s problems and concerns, we can continue to sing, “All is well”?

We need our personal answers to these questions as we, the sisters of the Church, respond to the charge given us to seek out and relieve the distressed, minister to the poor and needy, feed the hungry, teach and train wives and mothers, welcome and include every sister, lead the young women, and nurture the children - all these to further the work of perfecting the Saints.

... Sisters, we, too, can know that if we sometimes forget the instructions, when we are wondering what to do, indeed our Father will come. ... Our God will never us forsake. We may not, probably will not, receive a personal visit from the Lord, but the answers do come from prayer, the scriptures, the words of the prophet, the still, small voice of inspiration.

I should like to reassure you that we truly can find courage to face our challenges and also give service to those whose needs are even greater than our own. ... Sometime to each of us will come questions of life and death, purpose and our own inevitable parting. All of us have had losses or will have. Perhaps it is for this that we are taught “to mourn with those that mourn” (Mosiah 18:9) and to “weep for the loss of them that die” (D&C 42:45).

"Don't limit your challenges; challenge your limits. Each day we
must strive for constant and never ending improvement."
- Tony Robbins.
... We do miss those who die. No matter how many friends or family members one has, the loss of one beloved person is difficult.

One great difference for us is our added knowledge that death is not permanent, that families can be forever.

The understanding we have of the reality of the Resurrection makes the waiting endurable and purposeful. Indeed, “sweet is the peace the gospel brings” (Hymns, no. 14).

... Single women in the Church continue to be included daily in the prayers of Church leaders. Many single sisters are living rich, full lives. They have made happy homes for themselves, their families, and friends. ... They attend the temple and do genealogy work. They give compassionate service. They make the world better for their being in it.

There are those in this group who have never married, although most of them would like to do so. There are widowed sisters who live alone and those whose marriages have been shattered by divorce. Many have difficult decisions to make regarding their choices in life.

Should they pursue a career? Can they be successful in what is traditionally a man’s business world? Should they try to be? How do they balance their expectations with the reality of their lives? ... How can they best fulfill the role given by the Lord to women?

Some of these sisters are single parents. Their challenges are many as they try to be both father and mother on what is most often a diminished income. ... Even when their children are grown, single mothers are still mothers and share in the trials as well as the joys of their children. ... For all of them, there are no simple answers except, as for all sisters, to do the best they can every day to look up; to learn; to evaluate resources within themselves, their families, their communities; to pray with faith; to search the scriptures; to find ways to be of service; to keep their own lives clean and pure, their relationships true; to forgive those who have caused the hurt.

Even as this is so, however, may every sister feel the warmth of friendship from her sisters in the Church and priesthood support from home teachers and bishops who care. May she be included, welcomed, given
opportunities to serve."

Some Budgeting Tips ~ Part Two

Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening,
this post should take approximately five minutes to read from start to finish.

This post is part two.

I would like to let you know that this post focuses on more budgeting tips that I have thought of for the past several months and I hope you would learn something new as you read throughout this post. I have decided to mark the following budgeting tips in bold followed by I would be sharing why I have shared those budgeting tips that isn't mark in bold. You can choose to use any of the following budgeting tips.

~ Do you know the differences between your needs and your wants when it comes with budgeting? I know that it is necessary for everyone who does budgeting to know the differences between their needs and their wants. I know it is easy temptation for people to easily to think about and worry about their wants than their needs when it comes to budgeting. I know that I do that at times. Needs are things you absolutely have to have to live life such as food, water, shelter, transportation, utilities, etc. Wants always cost extra money such as eating out, shopping for unnecessary items, gym memberships, vacations, etc.

~ Did you know that there are some engaged couples around the world who has created a budget for their wedding? I know that there has been some couples who have considered to do a budget for the costs of their wedding while they were planning for their wedding, and I know that some of them may have even considered to include the cost of their honeymoon within the same budget.. I know that my husband and I have done reasonably well when we both budgeted for our wedding including our honeymoon costs, and we spent even less than half of our wedding budget. We have spent total of less than $2,500 US dollars ($3,000 Australian dollars) for our wedding.

~ Have you remembered to canceled on FREE trials from your bank card right before those trials aren't FREE and start charging money? I know that I always have enjoyed FREE trials on certain things in the past before the subscription has started for me to pay money towards; especially on Amazon Prime, Hallmark Channel, and so forth. Subscriptions are very easy to add up in overtime without those FREE trials.

I know that my husband have been paying for Hulu (not including LIVE - TV such as HBO) monthly since towards end of last year and my Photoshop and my Lightroom subscription combined monthly since towards end of last year, meanwhile I have been paying for my Spotify premium account monthly. My husband thought it was a great idea for him to download a playlist from my Spotify account for getting all of the songs that he likes and enjoy listening to while he is working.

"If you can't pay cash, you can't afford it."
I have a seperate playlist from my Spotify account for me to listen to at home and whenever I am out of the house (while I'm not being near him) to still play songs from my Spotify account.

We honestly saved more than $3 US dollars (over $4 Australian dollars) a month for using my Spotify account, instead of us deciding to get Family Premium Spotify account.

~ Are you fully committed and fully determined to save as much as you can? I know that sometimes all it takes is being fully committed and fully determined to save as much as you can especially during difficult times. I know that you can get easily discouraged when it comes to not being fully committed and fully determined to save as much as you can.

~ Have you ever thought about or considered of having an emergency funds account while you are budgeting? I know that some people may not fully thought about or considered of having an emergency funds account as much as they would like to. I know that it does comes handy for having at least one emergency funds account while budgeting especially when those funds can be accessed to during unexpected events and unforeseen circumstances. Emergency funds account can have $5,000 US dollars (close to $7,000 Australian dollars) or more. You can add a certain portion from your income into that account.

~ Have you ever tracked your process while budgeting? I know that it does comes in handy for tracking the process while budgeting, because it would help of what you have been doing great at budgeting for saving more and spending less.

~ Who should be in charge for your budget? I know that you should be in charge for your budget because it is your money, and you know what works best for your budget not someone else's budget. Some people has different reasons and purposes why they have their budgets because they are in control with their money.

By the way; Happy Birthday to my Dad, and Happy Birthday to Sister Sia Leifi, I hope they have a great birthday..

Some Budgeting Tips ~ Part One

Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening,
this post should take three to five minutes to read from start to finish.

This post is part one.
Have you ever heard of some tips about budgeting before?
Well; I would like to let you know that this post focuses on some budgeting tips that I have thought of for the past several months and I hope you would learn something new as you read throughout this post. I have decided to mark the following questions focuses on budgeting tips in bold followed by I would be sharing why I have shared those budgeting tips that isn't mark in bold. You can choose to use any of the following budgeting tips.

~ Have you considered about eating at home more often than eating Fast Foods? My husband and I have been mostly eating at home because we know it is certainly cheaper, affordable and mostly healthier which has helped us to save a lot even though we do have a maximum spending limit for eating Fast Foods and dining in Restaurants.

~ If you have a budget; have you thought about what is your reason/s for budgeting? I know that there are multiple reasons that I could think of what would have been your reason or reasons why you have decided to have a budget. I have decided to do budgeting for myself and my husband at the beginning of our marriage, and that has been one of the major decision to make. I know that one of the reasons why I have decided to do budgeting for myself and my husband at the beginning of our marriage, and throughout our marriage thus far is WE CAN SAVE more and SPEND less.
"A budget isn't about restricting what you can spend. It gives you
permission to spend without guilt or regret."
~ Did you know every month would be different to budget for?

I have acknowledged over the past ten months duration of my marriage with my husband, that the monthly budget is always kept changing and has been different when the new month approaches.

I have recognized that there has been some months when my husband has spent more than other months and I also have recognized that there has been other months when my husband has spent less than some months.

I know that it would continue happening in the same pattern in the near future, and in the future. At least I know what to expect in the near future and in the future.

For an example of a expensive month to budget for; A month that can consist of paying costs for car maintenance, purchasing more toilet paper, more meats, more paper towels and more laundry detergent because you are running low.

For an example of a cheap month to budget for; A month that can consist of deciding to use public transportation as a method of transportation instead of driving to work, you have decided to use less electricity, no spending on fast foods, you have done a lot of cooking for homemade meals (such as tuna bakes, baked potatoes, homemade pizzas, chicken and corn soups, homemade burgers, and so forth), making extra homemade meals for leftovers, and so forth.

~ How soon can you pay off most or all of your debts? Well you can pay most or all of your debts as soon as you can. I know that some people have set a goal to pay off all of their debts prior to their marriage. It is a great goal to have. I remembered prior to my marriage to husband, he paid the remaining installments of his truck which was great feeling to know that my husband wouldn't have to continue paying off his truck during our marriage. My husband and I are doing our best to avoid having debts in the future. I know that if my husband and I do ended up having debt/s in the future, we can always do our best to pay it off as soon as we can afford to.

~ Why is it best to keep cash on you at all times? I know that sometimes it is best to have cash on you at all times and rely on it as a backup payment option when you go to places and just in case you decide to not making purchases in-stores by using your bank card. I have acknowledged at times when my husband and I go groceries shopping, sometimes he gets less than $35 US dollars (less than $50 Australian dollars) out and it certainly does come handy whenever we go to places where it accepts cash only because the stores' EFTPOS machine isn't working.

Reach for the Stars

Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening,
this post should take three to five minutes to read from start to finish.

This post focuses on a April 1981 General Conference talk and it is called, "Reach for the Stars" by Barbara B. Smith. I would like to share with you some highlights while I was reading the talk recently, and I hope you will be
able to learn something new.

Sister Smith has mentioned the following; "... We’re not only confronted with it in the media, but we experience it with virtually every purchase we make. Most Saturday afternoons my husband and I make a trip to the grocery store for our weekly supplies and food storage items. ... We discussed the high cost of food for large families with limited incomes, elderly people with small pensions, and single parents often with uncertain means.

... How might Relief Society enable a woman to create an environment of optimism and adventure, while at the same time helping her stretch her dollars and resources by implementing sound economic principles in the home? Let me point out a few mini courses each Relief Society unit might hold to help women meet this challenge:

First, home and money management -
Wise home and money management instruction should help each sister learn how to bring all expenditures within the family income. It has been thoughtfully said that we should set our scale of living one degree below our means. ... The first hard rule of fixing our scale of living below our means is to budget, planning first for basic needs and then for other desired items.
"Balancing the budget is like going to heaven. Everybody wants to
do it, but nobody wants to do what you have to do to get there."
- Phil Gramm.

We should help all women enjoy the peace of mind that comes from making and following a plan for spending.

... Women must learn to budget and to help their children learn to budget also. Women and children should know that, no matter how important or how worthwhile an item might seem to be, if they cannot afford it, it is an unwise expenditure. ..." (Ensign, July 1975)

Living on a budget is not a chore - It need not even be a deprivation. Budgeting should be a great learning experience. ... We can teach women to be realistic in money management and still maintain a spirit of resourcefulness and optimism.

Next, a resource management mini course might be planned. It could enable the sisters to share ways to save energy. ... Resource management includes wise stewardship of possessions and an appreciation of the value that still remains in some used goods.

... Other mini classes on resource management might focus on ways to take better care of clothes - how best to repair, clean, and alter them for longer wear. A mini class on laundering tips could also add to a woman’s understanding of how to add life to fabric. ... If we “make do” creatively, we don’t have to do without. We can enrich the lives of our family members at very little cost.

A third mini course might be on healthful living. Plan ways to help the sisters save money by attaining the best health of which they are capable. Relief Society should provide training to promote physical well-being as the least expensive medical treatment. The illness you avoid costs nothing. Good health habits save money. To promote good health, women need to plan nutritious meals. Most of us could have smaller portions of food and still be healthy, but all of us should eat regular, well-balanced meals each day. ...

One basic concept of the welfare system of the Church is to prepare for a time of emergency by careful planning. Relief Society has the capability of helping sisters further this effort by making their homes models of provident living that can meet present need and possible emergencies.

I have thought about the emergency preparation necessary when Noah’s ark was made ready. Noah must have achieved the most effective welfare planning in the history of mankind when he very carefully followed the Lord’s counsel and built the ark. His wife and their sons undoubtedly worked and planned with him so that the blessings of the Lord might be theirs. ... Noah and his family must have been able to plan and provide in such a way that they could find pleasure in their efforts (selecting just the right two of each animal), adventure in their voyage (surely there were new little furry creatures almost weekly), and joy as the splendor of the very first rainbow filled the sky, and the Lord’s promise was fulfilled.

Could we be as diligent today? Can we as women be accountable and help meet the great challenge of economic stress by our wise stewardship over that with which the Lord has blessed us? ..."

Reliable Budgeting for a Married Couple

Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening,
this post should take approximately three minutes to read from start to finish.

My husband has been able to continue working after I moved over here, - thankfully. He works some long days (over ten hours), and he works some short days (less than ten hours). I don't ever know exactly what time is he expected to finish work on most days, and I would just estimate roughly what time would he be home by at times. Sometimes those roughly estimated times has been wrong, because my husband works either longer than expected or shorter than expected.

This post isn't about my husband's employment. This post focuses on the reliable budget that my husband and I have together as a married couple, and I hope someone will gain new understanding of budgeting as a married couple. My husband has given me permission to keep one of his bank cards with me at all times because he trusts me, and he knows that I would be able to spend wisely by making purchases online and in stores. I must admit that bank card definitely comes in handy, because I wouldn't have to worry about paying international fees - thankfully.

"A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering
where it went." - Dave Ramsey.
I know that if I used my Australian bank card, I would have to pay the international fees each time I make a purchase while I am living over here. He has his other bank card with him at all times, and he uses it often.

Throughout the first three months into the marriage; I strongly believe that my husband and I were spending way too much money on groceries, it was cost over $350 US dollars a month.

Can you imagine for the cost of groceries was most than $490 Australian dollars a month? I knew it costed so much because we didn't considered of having a reliable budget at the time and I always wanted to have frozen meals to be heated up in the microwave and eat it for lunch.

You may ask who does the reliable budget between myself and my husband. Well I currently do the reliable budget between my husband and myself which has been great. We often review our reliable budget often, we both always do our best to agree a lot with the maximum spending limits monthly and I have been doing my best to encourage my husband to SAVE for whatever amount that we don't spend a month.

We have budgeted of maximum spending cost for electricity monthly, we have budgeted of maximum spending cost for water monthly, we have budgeted of maximum spending cost for groceries monthly, we have budgeted of maximum spending cost of getting fuel/gas monthly, and so forth.

We couldn't have budgeted for our rent where we currently live at, the costs of our health insurances, the costs of having WiFi, and my current mobile plan monthly because those have set prices. I know that it would've been nice if the monthly cost of rent, the monthly cost of our health insurances, and the monthly cost of my current mobile plan was about either 20% or 30% cheaper than it currently is per month and I know that my husband would agree with me.

Having a reliable budget for a married couple definitely comes in handy, it definitely teaches the couple to spend wisely, they would be able to spoil themselves on dates, they would be able to spoil themselves on vacations, SAVE as much as they can, having full control with their money, they would know what money comes in and out, and so forth.
Stay tuned until next time.

Reliable Budget for an Individual In the Past

Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening,
this post should take approximately three minutes to read from start to finish.

I have some simple and easy following questions that you can ask yourself and answering those questions either now or in your own time. What is true your definition and understanding of having a reliable budget in the past?
If you have created a reliable budget in the past, what has motivated you for creating a reliable budget? Did you received some help by anyone while you were creating a reliable budget in the past?

What were some of the blessings that you have received from having a reliable budget in the past?
What were some of the things that has helped you for sticking to your reliable budget in the past?

If you haven't created a reliable budget in the past, what was your reason/s for not having a reliable budget?
Do you think that you will eventually create a reliable budget either in the near future or in the future?

Have you thought about some of the blessings that comes from having a reliable budget in the near future or in the future? Have you thought about seeking some help by someone when you would decide to create a reliable budget?
"One of the great laws of earth is that your expenses need to be less than your income. - Jeffrey R.Holland."
I know that some people are doing a great job for creating a reliable budget and sticking to it. I know some people might have thought about creating a reliable budget and sticking to it is a massive hustle in their lives. I know that some people may forget and not even thinking about having a reliable budget in their lives. I know that some people just doesn't know who to talk to for seeking assistance, and requesting some help for them to be able create a reliable budget one day successfully.

I know that some people just doesn't care about some of blessings or all of the blessings that they are missing out on from not having a reliable budget. I know that I am truly grateful for having a reliable budget in the past, because it has helped me in many ways and it has taught me so much.

Some of you may be wondering about what were some of the things that has helped me and has taught me from having a reliable budget. in the past. I would be happy to share several of major things that has helped me and has taught me.

For having a reliable budget in the past; it has taught me multiple effective ways of how to save as much as I can successfully, it has helped to create a reliable emergency/unexpected funds account successfully - it was separated from my savings account, it has helped me to purchase groceries, it has helped me for setting a maximum spending limit that went towards car maintenance regularly, it has helped me to save a portion from the earnings that I was receiving, it has helped me to pay all of the necessary bills either on time or early, it has helped me to afford of spoiling myself such as spending on vacations to go overseas, and so forth.

The Atonement Covers All Pain

Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening,
this post should take approximately five minutes to read from start to finish.

This blog is about to reach 5,000 total pageviews, most times, it feels like time has flown by so quickly.
What is your true definition and meaning of "Atonement" ? How does the Atonement covers all pain?

This post focuses on a April 2011 General Conference talk and it is called, "The Atonement Covers All Pain" by Kent F. Richards. I would like to share with you some highlights while I was reading the talk.

Elder Richards mentioned the following; ... I have pondered about the purpose of pain. None of us is immune from experiencing pain. I have seen people cope with it very differently. Some turn away from God in anger, and others allow their suffering to bring them closer to God. Like you, I have experienced pain myself. Pain is a gauge of the healing process. It often teaches us patience. Perhaps that is why we use the term patient in referring to the sick.

Elder Orson F. Whitney wrote:
“No pain that we suffer, no trial that we experience is wasted. It ministers to our education, to the development of such qualities as patience, faith, fortitude, and humility. … It is through sorrow and suffering, toil and tribulation,
that we gain the education that we come here to acquire.”
"It is a fundamental truth that through the ATONEMENT OF
JESUS CHRIST
we can be cleansed." - Richard G. Scott.

Similarly, Elder Robert D. Hales has said:
“Pain brings you to a humility that allows you to ponder. It is an experience I am grateful to have endured. …

Much of our suffering is not necessarily our fault. Unexpected events, contradicting or disappointing circumstances, interrupting illness, and even death surround us and penetrate our mortal experience. Additionally, we may suffer afflictions because of the actions of others.

... Opposition is part of Heavenly Father’s plan of happiness. We all encounter enough to bring us to an awareness of our Father’s love and of our need for the Savior’s help. ...

“He suffereth the pains of all men, yea, the pains of every living creature, both men, women, and children.” ... The Atonement of Jesus Christ covers all these conditions and purposes of mortality. There is another kind of pain for which we are responsible. Spiritual pain lies deep within our souls and can feel unquenchable, even as being racked with an“inexpressible horror,” as Alma described. It comes from our sinful actions and lack of repentance. ...

Perhaps His most significant work is in the ongoing labor with each of us individually to lift, to bless, to strengthen, to sustain, to guide, and to forgive us. ... Alma also prophesied that “he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and … he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people. …

As I pondered, I came to understand that during His mortal life Christ chose to experience pains and afflictions in order to understand us. Perhaps we also need to experience the depths of mortality in order to understand Him and our eternal purposes.

President Henry B. Eyring taught:
“It will comfort us when we must wait in distress for the Savior’s promised relief that He knows, from experience, how to heal and help us. … And faith in that power will give us patience as we pray and work and wait for help. He could have known how to succor us simply by revelation, but He chose to learn by His own personal experience.”

... I made another discovery: “When the even was come, they brought unto him many … and he … healed all that were sick.” He healed all that came to Him. None were turned away.

As Elder Dallin H. Oaks has taught:
“Healing blessings come in many ways, each suited to our individual needs, as known to Him who loves us best. Sometimes a ‘healing’ cures our illness or lifts our burden. But sometimes we are ‘healed’ by being given strength or understanding or patience to bear the burdens placed upon us.”

All that will come may be “clasped in the arms of Jesus.” All souls can be healed by His power. All pain can be soothed. In Him, we can “find rest unto [our] souls.” Our mortal circumstances may not immediately change, but our pain, worry, suffering, and fear can be swallowed up in His peace and healing balm.

I have noted that children are often more naturally accepting of pain and suffering. They quietly endure with humility and meekness. ... " Our great personal challenge in mortality is to become “a saint through the atonement of Christ.” The pain you and I experience may be where this process is most measured.”

Your Four Minutes

Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening,
this post should take five minutes to read from start to finish.

This post is focuses on April 2014 General Conference talk and it is called "Your Four Minutes" by Bishop Gary E. Stevenson. I would love to share with you some highlights while I was reading the talk.

Bishop Stevenson mentioned the following;
"... Now, consider how your pathway to eternal life ...  You are an eternal being. Before you were born, you existed as a spirit. In the presence of a loving Heavenly Father, you trained and prepared to come to earth for a brief moment and, well, perform.

This life is your four minutes. While you are here, your actions will determine whether you win the prize of eternal life. The prophet Amulek described, “This life is the time … to prepare to meet God; yea, behold the day of this life is the day … to perform [your] labors.”In a sense, your four minutes have already begun. The clock is ticking.

The words of the Apostle Paul seem so fitting: to run the race, that you may obtain the prize. In the same way that certain steps are essential in the very brief performance of an Olympic athlete - jumps or maneuvers for ice skaters and snowboarders, negotiating the turns of a bobsled run, or carving through the gates of a downhill slalom course - so it is in our lives, where certain things are absolutely essential checkpoints which move us through our spiritual performance on earth.

These spiritual markers are the essential God-given ordinances of the gospel: baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, priesthood ordinations, temple ordinances, and partaking of the sacrament each week. “In the[se] ordinances … , the power of godliness is manifest.” ...

I urge you to ponder, “What do I need to do next to ensure my medal?” Perhaps during this conference, the Spirit has whispered to you what that may be: to prepare more thoughtfully for an ordinance in your future or to receive an ordinance that you should have received a long time ago. Whatever it may be, do it now. Don’t wait. Your four minutes will pass quickly, and you’ll have eternity to think about what you did in this life.
"The miracle of the Atonement can make up for imperfections
in our performance." - Gary E. Stevenson.

Self-discipline is needed. Daily prayer, scripture study, and church attendance must be the foundation of your training. A consistent pattern of obeying the commandments, keeping the covenants you have made, and following the Lord’s standard found in For the Strength of Youth is required.

Perhaps you’re aware of things in your life that are threatening to slow or stop your spiritual progress.  If so, follow this scriptural counsel: “Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.”

It is not yet too late to repent. But it soon may be, because no one really knows when your four minutes will be over.

Now, you may be thinking to yourself, "I already blew it. My four minutes are already a disaster. I may as well give up." If so, stop thinking that, and never think it again. The miracle of the Atonement can make up for imperfections in our performance.

As Elder Jeffrey R. Holland has taught: “To those of you … who may still be hanging back, …" "… It is never too late so long as the Master … says there is time. … Don’t delay." Remember, you are not alone. The Savior has promised that He will not leave you comfortless.11 You also have family, friends, and leaders who are cheering you on.

... Recently, Elder David A. Bednar described a simple way to conduct a family assessment to mark progress on the covenant path by essential ordinances. All that is needed is a piece of paper with two columns: “name” and “plan for next or needful ordinance.” ... Everyone on the list needed the sacrament ordinance.

... in fulfilling our role to help each member of our family along the covenant path, with an action plan for each of them. Perhaps this is an idea for you which will lead to family discussions, family home evening lessons, preparation, and even invitations for essential ordinances in your family. ... With that in mind, is there someone who needs your encouragement? a family member? a friend? a classmate or fellow quorum member? How can you help them with their four minutes?

Dear friends, you are in the midst of an exhilarating journey. In some ways, you are racing down the half-pipe or sled track, and it can be challenging to perform each element or navigate each turn along the way. But remember, you’ve prepared for this for millennia. This is your moment to perform. This is your four minutes! The time is now! I express my utmost confidence in your abilities. You have the Savior of the world on your side. If you seek His help and follow His directions, how can you fail? ..."

The Supernal Gift of the Atonement ~ Part Two

Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening,
this post should take three to five minutes to read from start to finish.

This post focuses on October 1988 General Conference talk and it is called, "The Supernal Gift of the Atonement" by James E. Faust. This post is part two and I would like to share with you some highlights while I was reading the talk.
Elder Faust mentioned the following;
... “What was it that suddenly changed these disciples to confident, fearless, heroic preachers of the gospel of Jesus Christ? It was the revelation that Christ had risen from the grave. His promises had been kept, his Messianic mission fulfilled. ... The gloom of death had been banished by the glorious light of the presence of their Risen, Glorified Lord and Savior.’

“On the evidence of these unprejudiced, unexpectant, incredulous witnesses, faith in the resurrection has its impregnable foundation.” Like the Apostles of old, this knowledge and belief should transform all of us to be confident, settled, unafraid, and at peace in our lives as followers of the divine Christ. It should help us carry all burdens, bear any sorrows, and also fully savor all joys and happiness that can be found in this life. ...
They sought to savor those precious moments and feelings.

The vacating of the tomb transcended all other events in the history of the world, for it attested that Jesus had not died, but that death itself had been overcome.

As I have traveled over much of the earth, I have been saddened over and over again by the legions of crippled, maimed, deformed, suffering, and diminished people almost everywhere. What parent of a special child has not agonized over the future and well-being of that child? Through the individual resurrection of each of us, there is great hope for all.
"The Savior's atonement leaves no traces, no
tracks. What it fixes is fixed. The Savior's
atonement heals and what it heals
stays healed." - Boyd K. Packer.

Amulek, in the Book of Mormon, promises that following the temporal death, “the spirit and the body shall be reunited again in its perfect form; both limb and joint shall be restored to its proper frame, … and we shall be brought to stand before God, … and have a bright recollection of all our guilt.”

The Prophet Joseph Smith stated, “I can taste the principles of eternal life, and so can you. … I know that when I tell you these words of eternal life …, you taste them, and I know that you believe them.” So it is that the humblest and newest believer, the child, youth, or adult can come to have a personal conviction of the truth of eternal life.

... “He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.” “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”

It is not necessary for anyone to depend continually upon the testimony of another regarding the mediation, atonement, and resurrection of Christ as our Redeemer and Savior. Each can savor the sweetness of the truths of the gospel by obedience to the principles, ordinances, and covenants.

One can still go to the Garden of Gethsemane, but the Lord Jesus cannot be found there, nor is He in the Garden Tomb. ... He must be found in one’s heart. But He left us the great Comforter forever and the everlasting power of the priesthood. ...

I testify that, through righteousness, this priesthood power and these supernal gifts of the Atonement and the Mediation can operate in our lives. Ultimately each of us must come to know these great spiritual truths by following the counsel of Jesus, “If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.”

In conclusion, I wish to make a humble declaration and affirmation that Jesus is the Christ, our Redeemer, and the Savior of the world. I do this with all the solemnity of my soul. ... I pray that our Savior will heal our souls, dry our tears, and create in each of us a pure heart. I also pray that we may find shelter in the shadows of His outstretched arms and that He will be merciful and forgiving concerning our weaknesses. ..."

The Supernal Gift of the Atonement ~ Part One

Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening,
this post should take five minutes to read from start to finish.

This post focuses on October 1988 General Conference talk and it is called, "The Supernal Gift of the Atonement" by James E. Faust. This post is part one and I would like to share with you some highlights while I was reading the talk.
Elder Faust mentioned the following;
"Through the Atonement and those singular events surrounding it, all of the terrible individual and collective sins of all mankind were taken upon the Lord’s shoulders. The marvelous result of this great suffering was that He was able to redeem from physical death the believers and the obedient as well as the unbelieving and disobedient. Every person ever born or yet to be born is the beneficiary of both the mediation and the atonement of the Savior.

The act of the Atonement is, in its simplest terms, a reconciliation of man with his God. The word atonement means to be at one. “It is literally at-one-ment.” ... Adam and Eve, having chosen to leave their state of innocence, were banished from the presence of God. ... It is a spiritual death because Adam and Eve were separated from the presence of God and given agency “to act for themselves and not to be acted upon.”

... However, the posterity of Adam and Eve were innocent of the original sin because they had no part in it. It was therefore unfair for all of humanity to suffer eternally for the transgressions of our first parents, Adam and Eve. ... Because of the transcendent act of the Atonement, it is possible for every soul to obtain forgiveness of sins, to have them washed away and be forgotten.

This forgiveness comes about, however, on condition of repentance and personal righteousness. There is a distinction between immortality, or eternal existence, and eternal life, which is to have a place in the presence of God. Through the grace of Jesus Christ, immortality comes to all men, just or unjust, righteous or wicked. However, eternal life is “the greatest of all the gifts of God.” ...
"There is no sin or transgression, pain or sorrow, which is outside
of the healing power of His Atonement." - C. Scott Grow.

President Joseph Fielding Smith explains,
“This distinction between eternal life, as received by the faithful, and immortality, obtained by both the faithful and unfaithful, is shown in the words of the Lord to Moses: ‘For behold, this is my work and my glory to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.’ ...

It explains that the Lord is giving to the vast majority of men, those who will not be obedient, the blessing of immortality; and to those who will serve him, the blessing of eternal life.”

It has been almost two thousand years since the wondrous occasion when death was conquered. We still do not know how the Savior was able to take upon Himself and bear our transgressions, our foolishness, our grief, our sorrows, and our burdens. It was indefinable and unfathomable. It was almost unbearable. ...

Even though, as a man or a woman, we are born, live a brief moment, and then die, through the atonement of Jesus Christ we will all live after death. Through the Mediation and Atonement we will be resurrected ourselves without going through any part of the atoning agony that the Son of God went through.

The testimonies of those faithful followers who saw, heard, and touched the resurrected Lord stand uncontroverted to this day. After the crucifixion, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome had bought sweet spices to anoint his body.

But the devoted women were concerned as to who would roll away the great stone in front of the sepulchre. When they arrived, they found that the stone had been rolled away. A great earthquake had intervened, and an angel had rolled back the stone from the door and sat upon it, causing the keepers to shake with fear and become as dead men.

The angel instructed the women to tell the disciples quickly of the Lord’s resurrection, assuring them that “he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him.” As they went to tell the disciples, “Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.”

During the forty days that the Savior spent with the Apostles and others, they heard and saw many unspeakable things. This special ministry changed the Apostles from an uncertain, confused, divided, and weak group into powerful witnesses of the Lord. ...

Perhaps the Apostles should not be unduly criticized for not believing that Jesus, having been crucified and buried in a tomb, had come back to earth as a glorified being. In all human experience, this had never happened before. It was completely unprecedented. ... They all died again. Jesus, however, became a resurrected being. He would never die again. .."

Nearly One Year Ago since I Arrived to Texas US

Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening,
this post should take approximately five minutes to read from start to finish.

Where did the time go? Has it really been nearly one year ago since I left Brisbane Australia?
Has it really been nearly one year ago since I have arrived to Texas, US?

Upcoming Sunday would mark one whole year ago since I have left Brisbane Australia, and upcoming Monday would mark one whole year ago since I have landed and arrived in Dallas, Fort-Worth International Airport with the K1 visa approval mark on my Australian passport from an officer. I remembered that officer  had a quick interview with me, he wanted to make sure for my intentions are still true and correct for the purpose of the visa, and asking me some quick and easy questions.

Afterwards; I knew in my mind that I was feeling overjoyed because I knew that the reality has sunk in and of course another beginning has just began. I felt so relief after long haul of flight of getting over here and I finally got to reunite with my husband (who was my fiànce at the time). I haven't seen him since he left Brisbane Australia towards end of late February last year. I remembered my husband and I both went to Chili's to dine-in for celebrations of me to be back in Texas, US.

Well one month and twenty-one days (fifty-two days) after my arrival to Texas, my Mum and my grandparents (my Mum's parents) has arrived in the same airport that I did. I absolutely cried and filled overwhelmed joy to see my Mum and my grandparents at the Airport. I was tracking most of their flights on their way to Dallas Fort-Worth International Airport from Brisbane Airport, in Brisbane Australia.

Wouldn't you feel scared or worried to know if they flew just before the hurricane and horrible storm that has arrived in Houston, Texas? Houston Texas was their last layover before they landed into Dallas, Houston LDS Temple was originally the Temple where my husband and I considered to be sealed in, and I think Satan was really trying his hardest to stop my Mum, and my grandparents from attending my own sealing. I am forever grateful that my husband and I changed our minds and made the decision to be sealed in Dallas LDS Temple.

I had so much happened within twelve months/a year of living in Texas US.
I would like to share several highlights that I have been able to do and accomplish since I have been over here.

~ I had to change two different US mobile phone numbers - I got a new mobile phone with a new US mobile number for a better reception of the area where I currently live and most of other places that I go to. ~ I didn't make too many new friends which is fine by me.

~ Exactly eight weeks mark after my arrival in Texas US; my husband and I got sealed in Dallas LDS Temple.
~ Either early or mid December last year; I have completed Starting and Growing My Business Self-Reliance Course. ~ Either early or mid December last year; I have completed Personal Finances another Self-Reliance Course.

~ I felt privileged of getting a ride with seven elderly church members from my stake to go to Dallas LDS Temple together at least once a month while my husband was working. I got a ride with another church members to go to the Temple with, again while my husband was working. My husband and I went to Dallas LDS Temple together a few times together prior to the Coronavirus.

~ I had two blood tests taken within a month - February 2020 and March 2020. I won't be sharing the results. I had two ultrasounds out of three ultrasounds done; one for pelvic (hip) and the other one in March 2020 - I won't be sharing the results and I am not pregnant. I had one dental exam (dental checkup) about a week ago.

~ For the past ten months since I have been married; I have been asked if I was pregnant, when my husband and I plan to have children, asking if I have any children, requesting for my husband and my future children's names that we liked and agreed on, so forth. My husband has been asked several occasions during work about if he has any children.

~ I have gained weight and it has been no surprise to some people. When I was living in Australia, I was underweight and I finally got to weighing normal weight (healthy range) sometime since I have been over here. I have my weight under control, and I know that I wasn't expecting to weight more than 22 LBS/10KG within a year. I won't be sharing exactly how much I gained over the past twelve months. Many thank you to the goodness of American food regardless how much I tried to be fit and healthy.

~ I have applied for my Green Card in October 2019, I still haven't had my interview for my Green Card and still no Green Card. Due to the Coronavirus; it has been delaying the progress of Green Cards - unfortunately.

Some Disadvantages of Living in United States

Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening,
this post should take three to five minutes to read from start to finish.

Have you ever wondered what disadvantages that comes with living in United States either short-term or long-term? Over the past twelve months of living over here, I have acknowledged and recognized some
disadvantages that comes with living over here.

~ Paying the cost of trash collection service each week - the bill will come out monthly along with water and sewage bill. In Australia, the trash collection service each week is FREE of charge.

~ The cost of medical insurance per month and annually. It can be so pricey and expensive. The medical insurance that my husband and I have together costs $719 US dollars ish (about $1,004 ish Australian dollars) a month. Thank goodness; my husband was eligible for us to get subsidy to help pay a portion of medical insurance each month. I won't share how much of the total that we have been able to save a month.

~ The cost of mobile plans are so expensive, my husband is paying over $100 US dollars (about over $140 Australian dollars) a month just for my mobile plan and it's not even included international calls. I won't be sharing exactly how much my husband is spending on my mobile plan a month.

~ The cost of rentals for newly built apartments (less than eight years old) can can be expensive. My husband and I live in a two bedroom apartment and rental cost over $700 US dollars (over $980 ish Australian dollars) a month. I won't be sharing exactly how much my husband has to pay for rent a month.

~ Dining-in Restaurants and Fast Foods can get expensive easily with two people or more. Just two people can cost roughly $35 US dollars (about $49 Australian dollars) or more depending on the Dining-In Restaurants and Fast Foods without tips.

~ Eating Fast Foods can be addiction. Whenever you ask for a meal from Fast Foods, you would always get a medium portion and you can upgrade to a large. In Australia, the portion size for meal of Fast Foods would
be small.

~ Depending on the countryside areas; there might be limited or no public transportation. Where I live currently; there are no nearby bus stations for me to catch a ride on the bus, there are no nearby train stations for me to catch a ride on a passengers train to go anywhere, there are no one who lives nearby and within twenty minutes who does Taxi, Uber, and Lyft.

~ Depending on the countryside areas; there might be limited or no Food Deliveries Services such as Uber Eats, DoorDash, Instacart, Postmates, etc. Where I live currently; if I really wanted to get Fast Food delivered, it would be Domino's and Pizza Hut even though I live less than eight minutes drive from McDonald's, Subway, Whataburger, Taco Bell, Jack in the Box, etc.

~ Each state has its own rates of Sales Taxes and it varies of depending on the products for each purchase.
~ The cost of vehicles' insurance - it can be expensive if you aren't able to find a great price.

Some Advantages of Living in United States

Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening,
this post should take three minutes to five minutes to read from start to finish.

Each state of United States has its own state laws, state rules, and costs of living.

~ Purchasing land in Texas is cheap. It varies from $10,000 US dollars (about $14,000 Australian dollars) to over $35,000 US dollars (over about $49,000 Australia dollars) - depending on how many acres.

~  Vehicle registration in Texas cost $75 US dollars (about $105 Australian dollars) a year.
- I am sure each state has its own cost for vehicle registration.

~ In United States; if you have a passport, you can drive to the Canadian border from the following states from United States; Washington, Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota, Michigan, New York, Vermont, and Maine.
Driving to Canada can be cheaper than flying.

~ In United States; if you have a passport, you can drive across the Mexico border from the following states from United States; California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. Driving to Mexico can be cheaper than flying.

~ Prior to the Coronavirus; United States have Walmart Stores that are open for twenty-four hours, seven days a week. If you were wondering what Walmart Store sells, it sells a lot of variety of things. I mean it sells of most things that you need in life to keep yourself alive and living.

Walmart sells lawn mowers, variety of clothing - including baby clothes, prams, variety of past movies in DvDs, variety of past TV shows in DvDs, brand-new electronics (such as TVs, mobile phones, etc), food and drinks groceries, sim cards, pain killers, multi-vitamins, medicines, schooling supplies, bikes including bike accessories, kitchen appliances (such as; microwaves, coffee machines, etc) shampoos, conditioners, vehicles' oil, parties supplies, and so much more. I know that's super convenient for shift workers who works full-time and had no trouble of finding the right time to groceries shopping.

~ Dollar Stores - I love the Dollar Stores and everything in that store costs $1. The store is convenient for variety of things such as brooms, dustpan and brush, android mobile phone chargers, 100 pages notebooks, small magnet white boards, pack of permanent markers, hair accessories (such as bobby pins, hair brush, etc), toothbrushes, birthday cards, calendars, etc.

~ The summer season is in the middle of the year. While I was living in Australia, it was always winter season in the middle of the year and I always wished it was summer instead of winter. ~ Americans celebrates great holidays such as Indepence Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, etc. ~ The cost of gas/fuel for vehicles is way cheaper over here than the cost of gas/fuel in Australia by per liter.

Have you ever thought about the disadvantages that comes from short-term and long-term living in Australia? Does it really matter to beware of the disadvantages that comes from living in Australia?

~ I have acknowledged and recognized the cost of residential living for renting in Australia is more expensive than United States. ~ I have acknowledged and recognized the cost of residential living for buying a house in Australia is more expensive than United States.

Some Advantages of Past Living in Australia

Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening,
this post should take three to five minutes to read from start to finish.

This post is short and sweet. I often do my best to remember and reflect on many memories that I had while I was living in Australia. Have you ever wondered about some advantages that comes from living short-term or living long-term in Australia?

~ In the past; I have acknowledged and recognized education is free in public government schools (Primary Schools and Secondary Schools). There are private schools, but it cost money. The last year in most Primary Schools is sixth grade when the students are eleven years old and the last year in most Secondary Schools is twelfth grade a.k.a seniors when the students are seventeen years old.

~ Depending on Secondary Schools; students from tenth grade (fifteen years old) to twelfth grade (seventeen years old) has opportunities to do school-based traineeships and school-based apprenticeships. Those school-based traineeships and apprenticeships are organized by two teachers of the school, and the locations of where to do them. You can be doing a school-based traineeship at KFC once a week away from school to be paid while you are learning new skills. - It can lead to greater opportunities later after finishing school and it can be a head start into your preferred career choice.

Link for more information - www.desbt.qld.gov.au/training/apprentices/sats

~ The weather for all seasons are wonderful in Queensland, Australia. I love Australian weather better than United States weather and my husband agrees with me. While I was living in Australia, my hairstyle would naturally be curly and my hair would also be in ringlets. During cooler months including winter season; it gets so cold in the morning between zero Celsius to eight Celsius/thirty-two Fahrenheit to forty-six Fahrenheit, and it gets warmer throughout the day between fifteen Celsius to twenty-four Celsius/fifty-nine Fahrenheit to seventy-five Fahrenheit.

~ I have acknowledged and recognized the wages for employment in Australia is higher than United States. I remembered when I was employed at a Domino's Pizza Store in Australia, I was getting paid roughly $26 Australian dollars ($18.50 US dollars) an hour on weekday shifts as a delivery driver.

~ As far as I know that the Australian Healthcare system is public and FREE to Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents. Depending on the areas; I know that people can be seen by a doctor with no
appointment has been booked in and doctors who are registered are able to home visit patients after
doctor office closing hours and before doctor office opening hours.

~ Doctors and Nurses prescribe patients of medications cheaper at Pharmacies and Chemists in Australia than United States. For an example; I was able to get prescribed to my Asthma inhaler for less than $8 Australian dollars (less than $6 US dollars) instead of paying $65 Australian dollars ($45 ish US dollars).

~ Depending on the areas; there are public transportation which is mostly buses and mostly trains available. Some areas would have Trams and Ferries. Some public transportation are great and reliable. I had no issue with public transportation while I was living in Australia.

- I remembered the moments when I relied on public transportation for going to Brisbane City on my own multiple times, going to Sydney City twice via public transportation and going to Perth City once on my own via public transportation. I know that it certainly does take longer to get to places and destinations via public transportation.
I also know that the costs isn't so bad for the ticket or travel card to travel via public transportation.

~ Depending on the areas; mechanics offers mobile mechanic services which means a mechanic would drive in a van to your house or wherever is your vehicle at, they can do certain mechanical work on the spot. It is useful but it is expensive.

~ Free to air TV and radio stations. ~ Mobile plans are reasonable priced.

Past Desires, Current Desires, Near Future Desires, and Future Desires

Have you ever found some time to reflect on some of the desires or all of the desires that you've had in the past? Have you found some time to reflect on some of the desires or all of the desires that you currently have now?

Have you had a spare moment to think about what types of desires that you would experience in the near future? Have you had a spare moment to think about what types of desires that you would experience in the future?

I know that in the past, I was able to accomplish many desires prior to meeting my husband and I would like to share with you several of those desires.

"If you desire to make a difference in the
world, you must be different from the world."
- Elaine S. Dalton.

I know that in the past, I was able to accomplish some desires after meeting my husband and prior to when I got married to my husband. I would like to share with you several of those desires.

~ I had a strong desire to drive on the opposite side from Australian roads and streets. My husband believe in me that I can do it, he had confidence in me, and he was great at supervising me to drive on the "right" - correct side of the roads and streets in United States when I drove in the car that he rented in Utah, February 2018..

What are my top three desires that I currently do have?
~ I have a strong desire to always keep myself busy especially while my husband is working.
~ I have a strong desire to not allow any negative thoughts and suggestions to come into my mind.
~ I have a strong desire to continue being the best person who I can be.

~ I have a strong desire that I would be able to get the Green Card interview notice in the mail within a few months to within a year from now, followed by I would be able to go to my Green Card interview, and then sometime after the Green Card interview - I would be able to receive my Green Card in the mail. I applied for the Green Card since towards end of October, last year. Due to coronavirus, the USCIS - United States Citizenships and Immigration Services has delayed many applications includes the Green Card application.

~ I have a strong desire that I would be able to get my United States driver's license, I want to be able to drive again instead of myself to rely on others excluding my husband for transportation to go to places.

~ I have a strong desire to continue exercising - bike riding and go on walks regularly. I would like to remain fit and being healthy as best as I can be.
